Let us build our own Language Model!

Matthias Hauswirth, Luca Chiodini,
University of Lugano

Language models are currently shaping the field of artificial intelligence like almost no other topic in the world, and large language models (LLMs) have become indispensable in our everyday lives. But what exactly are they? And how do they work? In this presentation, we'll get to the bottom of it: Together, we'll construct and train a very simple language model. Since we're working entirely without pre-made building blocks, every step can be directly followed. The result? Your own small model, which generates new texts in the style of Shakespeare, Goethe, or Dante.

This time we are not planning a live broadcast and recording of the lectures for viewing on YouTube. We would be delighted to have you join us in person so we can greet you personally.
